Planning Your Team Building Event

In Advance of the Event:

1. The first step is for the group to choose the menu. The group may decide by consensus or your group organizer may decide. In the case of consensus, individual tastes and habits are balanced against the need to find common ground (the Menu) and to take the risk of the unknown.
   
2. Your group organizer is responsible for having the proper forms filled out and sent to Cuisine Karen at least three weeks in advance of cooking event date. The group organizer must fill out the Event Planner Questionnaire, and have each participant fill out a separate Team Cooking Questionnaire. The group organizer will keep one set of questionnaires for strategic planning (see following step), and send one complete set to Karen Gros.
   
3. Based on input from the group organizer, Cuisine Karen will provide the selected menu, recipes and instructions to each participant one week in advance of cooking event. The group will study the material, and begin to understand the process.
   NOTE: Participants will need to bring the copies of the recipes and instructions to the cooking event.
   
4. The group is formed into teams by your staff before the start of the event, and your group organizer will have chosen a team leader or “chef de cuisine,” based on company goals and/or the evaluation of each member's cooking experience as reflected in the Team Cooking Questionnaire.

The Day of the Event:

1. The teams are formed and leaders will have been chosen in advance of arrival at cooking event. After the orientation, Karen Gros will assign tasks in order to ensure that everyone will have ample opportunity for “hands on” cooking, as well as to experience the detail of each dish, and understand how the entire meal is prepped, cooked, presented and served.
   
2. Then, the teams create their culinary masterpieces and savor them during the 4-course sit-down luncheon.
