Karen Gros provides regular culinary classes in her Provençal-style home, featuring locally-grown seasonal menus.  She is available as a personal chef for private dinners or cooking parties, as well as cooking events such as Corporate Culinary Team Building.  Karen also lectures on the subject of cooking with fresh and dried herbs, as well as the making of stocks and sauces.  Karen is now sharing her love of France by taking small groups on food-based tours to France. Currently, one week in Paris, and 10-days in Provence are being offered. Karen plans to add Brittany/Normandy, as well as the Cote d'Azur in 2009.

Karen lives in Eureka Springs, Arkansas with her two children and French husband, Patrice, who is an organic vegetable grower and market farmer. Her culinary education was born the day she married Patrice in Marseille.  She has spent much time in French kitchens and has had the luxury of being taught first-hand by her French in-laws.  She attributes her success in the kitchen to their discriminating tastes which have aided in developing her refined palate.

Karen recently attended Lenôtre à Paris Cours de Cuisine, and the Francoise Meunier Cours de Cuisine, also in Paris. She has also attended Eggstravaganza by Jen McAllister, winner of American Egg Board Fellowship, in addition to culinary courses at the University of California at Los Angeles, and Santa Monica College, as well as various community cooking courses. Karen is thankful to her friend Jennifer Tabary of Paris, who works with renowned pastry chef Pierre Hermé, for bestowing upon her a wealth of culinary knowledge and appreciation, as well as the inspiration to teach culinary classes. Karen was honored to be selected for the past two years as a judge for the Eureka Springs Chocolate Festival.
